| Dear friends, I'm not at all familiar with the topic of EB-3 visa, but my friend has been thinking about applying for it. I was also thinking about trying it, I just know that the process is very long and can take years. So I thought that maybe something will change in the future and maybe I'll really want to move to the US someday. So why not? But I have one point, I have a child that I want to take with me. I have seen such a term in articles like CSPA and I don't really understand what it is. Can someone please explain it to me in simple words?

| Can you tell me how old your child is? The whole point of the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) is that children are considered children if they are under 21, then they can apply for their parents' visas. But there are some nuances that you can read about in this article: https://eb3.work/will-i-age-out-how-the-cspa-works-for-children-of-eb-3-applicants/ . It is important that your child is under 21 at the time of filing the I-140 form. Also, when the visa becomes available, you must file Form I-485 (if you're in the U.S.) or start the DS-260 (if you're abroad) within one year, otherwise the frozen CSPA status will disappear. Therefore, it is better to read all the necessary information in detail before applying.
