| Too traditional can shut down curiosity fast, and we saw that with our own son. He started asking tough questions about faith after we moved, and the first church we tried here just told him to wait until he was older. A friend from work sent us to Bible preaching church near me , and the difference was clear. The kids' class let them ask anything, and the teachers actually engaged instead of deflecting. Our son came home talking about what he learned, not what he was told to memorize. We met a few parents after service who were dealing with the same questions. It felt open and real, so I'd give it a couple of Sundays.
