| Spangrams can span the board horizontally or vertically from one side to the other and are highlighted in yellow upon discovery. Due to their significant length, Spangrams offer a distinct experience compared to shorter words; players must trace a longer path and recognize how letters connect across a wide area. Once the Spangram is found, the rest of the puzzle often becomes easier to decipher, as the theme is clearly defined. "Strands hints" can assist players by pointing them toward the Spangram's concept without necessarily revealing the full word immediately. This is an effective strategy for those who have identified some Theme Words but haven't yet grasped the big picture. Conversely, some players prefer finding the Spangram early, viewing it as the key to unlocking the remaining words. Both approaches are valid and add variety to the gameplay. There is no single "right" way to prioritize finding the Spangram; what matters most is that players find a method that suits their own deductive style. Once the Spangram is highlighted in yellow, players gain a visual reference point to help organize the rest of the grid, allowing them to re-examine unused areas with fresh insight. It is this ability to link the theme, location, and grid structure that makes the Spangram one of the most memorable features of strands hint today.
