| Hello forum! I’m planning to buy a used Toyota Camry and I’m trying to be as careful as possible without going crazy. Prices are higher than they used to be, and many listings look almost identical: same mileage, same condition descriptions, same “no accidents” claims. Friends tell me that VIN decoding and history checks are especially important now, even for brands like Toyota. I always thought VIN checks were more useful for luxury or sports cars, not for practical sedans. But then I started hearing stories about imported Toyotas, mileage corrections, and cars repaired after accidents but sold as “clean.” I’m wondering if VIN decoding really adds value for Toyota buyers, or if it’s more about psychological comfort than real data.
