I’m working on a custom project and have been researching different materials for parts that need to be lightweight but still durable. I know aluminum is commonly used in many automotive and marine applications because of its strength and resistance to corrosion.

For anyone here who has worked on vehicle or equipment modifications, what factors do you consider when choosing fabricated parts? I recently came across discussions about Aluminum fuel tank fabrication and was curious about how people compare aluminum tanks with other material options in terms of reliability and long-term use.
