I’ve been working with older web applications and ASP, and one thing that keeps coming up is how much repetitive document work can still be handled manually. Forms, records, generated files, and keeping information consistent between different parts of an application can become pretty tedious.

I’m curious how others approach this kind of workflow automation without completely rebuilding an existing system. For example, would you normally create your own scripts and database processes, or use an existing tool? I’ve also come across patent automation software while researching document-heavy workflows, and I’m wondering whether tools in that area can be integrated with older web applications or if they generally work as standalone systems.
