The creator has only created life
It is not his duty to show us the way
We must guide ourselves through life
To truly be accepted into his arms
We should not have to ask for favors
And he should not have to provide them
What we take from our mother earth
We must give back with respect and love
Until we are able to accept who we are
We will always suffer at our own fate
We have to create our own destiny
Or does destiny create us?
That if I tried hard enough,
I could jump to the moon.
That if I coiled the spry springs
of my legs, and took off
from the ground, I could leave
the damp and grassy fragment of space
that we called a garden, and
soar above my wildest dreams.
The one thing she did not reckon for,
though, was that I might do it -
that I might reach the moon, stars, sun.
That I would leave the grass and damp earth
for the better world of thought.
